Russian defense sector

"The defense sector will become more competitive by 2020,” Rogozin announced on Thursday. “It will unite about 40 large research and production companies capable of development, asset management and active positioning [of Russian defense products] on Russian and international markets." The statement by Rogozin was on the topic of uniting many of Russia's defense corporations to co-develop more powerful weaponry for Russia and it's allies' use. Russia's military and defense sectors surpass the civilian sector in economic growth by 1.3%. Another statement by Rogozin was that they would not be light on people found guilty of corruption in the defense sector and would be heavily punished as Russia suffers from mass amounts of corruption as it is a not entirely stable country.

Russia to render missile shield "useless"

Russian President and Supreme Commander of the Russian Armed Forces Dmitri Medvedev has stated that if Russia is not allowed to partake in the European Missile Shield, it would render the missile system "useless." This comes after some tension between Russia and the United States after the U.S. planted a missile defense system to protect Europe from growing threats in the middle east. Russian objects this idea until it has legal guarantee that the missile defense is not pointed at Russia's nuclear capabilities. The U.S. has denied any legal contracts and has caused Russia to rearm it's nuclear and missile forces 30% from where they stood before the missile system was added to Europe. “This does not mean a confrontation, this means only one thing – we cannot remain indifferent to their plans because they touch upon our strategic interests, this is why I had to make this statement,” Medvedev told the military referring to his address to the Federal Assembly in which he for the first time announced the plans to counter the proposed missile defense shield.

New AK Rifle created.

The creator of the Ak-47, Mikhail Kalashnikov has came up with a new idea for an AK rifle. The AK-2012, or the AK-12 is a newly innovated version of the AK-47, the worlds most notorious rifle and popular sold weapon in history. The AK-12, revamped and almost ready to replace the AK-47, has been in production for several months now and a final prototype has been created. Plans are for the weapon to be mass produced and distributed to the Russian military by the end of 2012. The AK-2012 is redesigned to be able to use different types of magazines and rounds of ammunition on the spot. This benefits for lose of ammunition on battlefield because common magazine types can be picked up and used without interchanging parts of the weapon.

Iran suicide boats

The country of Iran is increasing its Naval power by adding dozens of`small fast speedboats filled with explosives for suicide runs. They plan on driving the speedboat into sides of U.S naval ships and blowing holes in them to flood it. This is reminder of old Al-Qaeda tactics in using speedboats to ram ships back in 2000. Other dangers the United States Fifth Naval Fleet are facing is the massive amounts of mines the Iranian navy has in it's arsenal. The navy has been practicing manuvers while iranian ships have been shadowing them, staying within half a mile of the American ships.

Iran sends pink drone to U.S

A man is pictured holding a pink model of the drone that was shot down over Iran just a few months ago. The Ayotollah had the phrase printed on the bottom "we will crush the united states". The drone is to be sent directly to President Barack Obama just months after the controversy of the drone being shotdown. “We wanted for Mr. Obama himself to have these toys and know that Iranians don't leave anyone's requests unanswered. We made the 'RQ' in pink as it is Mr. Obama's favorite color and we will send it to him via the Swiss embassy," said Seyyed Saeed Hassan-pour, head of the cultural department of the Aaye Company, to Reuters.

Spy swap 50 year anniversary

50 Years ago today there was a spy swap between the USSR and The United States that would become a key point in the war. Gary Powers, the man who was shot down in a U-2 spy plane May 1st 1960 while taking pictures of Soviet Nuclear Facilities and uranium enrichment sites across siberia. He was traded for a man named Rudolph Abel, a Soviet Spy who sent back many secrets to the USSR about missiles and nuclear programs. Gary Powers was cold shouldered by many people for not taking the poison pill he was equipped with incase of being caught. He eventually quit the airforce and began to fly helicopters for a california news station until he was 47, he died when the helicopter crashed.

Russia sentences CIA spy

Russian has setenced a CIA spy for selling top secret information to the United States about Russia's Ballistic missile programs. The information sold is outdated and the types of missiles used are no longer in service said an unknown source from Russian FSB. The man who sold the secrets will serve 13 years in a high tech prison with surpreme supervision. The man, who's rank was high on in the military was stripped of rank. The types of missiles, which can reach all points on the earth are very dangerous and high tech, making the payout for the secrets well worth the risk of being captured.

Iran sends troops to Syria

Iran is sending 15,000 special operations troops to the country of Syria to help keep the regime in place. Syrian president Bashir-Assad announced that Iranian troops would be deployed in the country to help maintain the peace in the nation that is currently falling apart. This was first reported in a Chinese newspaper before going global. A majority of the troops will be deployed in Homs, the third largest city in Syria, which is currently undergoing a small war between Pro Regime security forces and rebel gangs. 110 people were killed in the fights on thursday. Iran is denieing that any soldiers will be sent.

Israeli air strikes hit gaza

The Israeli military has launched airstrikes on the Gaza strip, a controversial piece of land with the palestinians and injured two palestinians. A three year old girl was almost killed in the strike. The Israeli military launched the strike after missiles and rockets were fired at southern Israeli. The airstrike was targetting three weapon hangers, two road ways and a weapon manufacturing site. Many times in the past 6 years have countries and ambassadors called on Israeli to lift its ban on entry and exit to gaza. They have refused to lift the ban.There have been increasing tension between Israel and Palestine.

Israel to strike Iran

The middle eastern country of Israel is believed to be preparing a strike in Iran in April, May, or June the United States defense secretary has stated. The defense secretary sees a strong possibility of an attack before Iran can heavily fortify its nuclear bases and enters an immunity zone. The attack would have to be carried out before hand to avoid the possibility of missing a chance Panetta believes. Reporters and journalists believe that military only the United States would be able to stop Iran if they make nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are said to be developed by next year in the nation of Iran.

Israeli intelligence has released information that Iran has created enough radiactive material for 4 nuclear bombs. Israel say within a year Iran will have fully developed a nuclear bomb for use and testing. Iran swears the programs are being used for civil purposes but western countries and Israel believe it is being used for weapon programs such as bombs and missiles.
